Author Arbie M. Dale is quoted with a profoundly powerful quotation. . . powerful enough that I will get right to it.
“To decide to be at the level of choice is to take responsibility for your life and to be in control of your life.”
– Arbie M. Dale
Questions to Ponder
What does “the level of choice” mean to me?
What choices are in front of me to make today?
Action Steps
Consider the role that choice plays in your life.
This about what is less-than-perfect in your life, and determine how your choices could change it.
My Thoughts
One of my favorite quotations from Og Mandino (one of my favorite authors) is: “Use wisely your power of choice.” As I read Arbie’s quote I could hear Og’s words. Do you want different results? Choose to change something. As a leader, do you want people to take greater responsbility for their work and results? Help them make new choices… and the best way to do that is to lead by example.
When you really begin to think about it, our choices dictate so much about our life and work, because our choices are in our control.
Spend time thinking about your choices today. If you aren’t getting the results you want, it is time for different choices.
Hello Kevin
After reading your post was prompted to search for some further quotes about overcoming challenges and came across this from General Patton-
“Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack.”
I thought this is a great self observation question.
“What am I cynical about?”
Not sure if it fits but wanted to respond anyway.
